Dirty Little Secret: Had a baby at sixteen then forced to give her up
History: The first seven years of Emma's life were ideal. She had a white picket fence suburban home complete with an society approving mother and a lawyer father. They were an enabled, well ado family with three young children, a nanny, and a dog. The gardeners tended to the yard work during the weekends and the pool cleaner dealt with the pool every Thursday, and Reese tended to a new man in bed once a week. After a long week at the office, Ian left work early one Friday to surprise his family with a weekend away and he walked in to see a neighbor, Mason Martin's, face planted between his wife's legs. To say the least, Ian was embarrassed, but he didn't explode. No, he just packed his bags, packed his children, and left the apple pie life behind; this of course after sending the divorce papers. Ian whisked the three youngsters to stay with family in Seattle while Reese found herself left with nothing but Mason Martin and mere pictures of her children's face.
Of course for Emma and her younger siblings, losing their mother and moving was hard. They were now living in a city, still in the lap of luxury, with a new nanny and a hard at work father. Emma was put into the best private school money could buy to achieve the best education and make the most of herself. Which for the first few years she did, she studied hard and got all A's, she was on honor roll every semester and still accomplished making the cheerleading squad during her freshman year. The cheerleading squad would prove to be her downfall however. While she made a lot of new friends, and found herself gaining popularity, she also found herself getting invited to parties and getting attention from her male classmates.
The first party Emma went to was a birthday party for her best friend, thrown by the girls older sister, when she was fourteen. There were more bottles of liquor than Emma could count and an endless amount of drugs. Emma loved the party, she loved the drinking, and she loved the thrill some little pill could bring; so the partying continued on. At first the signs didn't show, she was still doing good in school and cheerleading, she wasn't doing anything outside of the parties, and she wasn't breaking any rules at home. But then the sex happened, it was the night of her fifteenth birthday and one of the hottest seniors was into her; it was perfect. He not only took her v-card, but soon became her boyfriend. Her father wasn't happy about the age difference, but the boy's family had a good name, so he had to be a little proud for his daughter. Not that the pride lasted long, at the six month mark of their relationship, they celebrated half a year by not using a condom; but that went kaboom in their face. A month and a half later, Emma had to not only suffer through a break up but shamefully tell her father she was pregnant.
The cover up of her pregnancy started soon after, the boys family paid her father a large sum to not press charges for statutory rape, and Emma was sent off to an alternative girls school. For ten months she lived with a bunch of other girls who were in the same situation as her; embarrassed parents and reputations to uphold. But it wasn't a bad school, the studies were easy and the extra curricular activities kept the girls always busy; which made the months of being pregnant fly by. On a breezy October night, Emma went into labor and the next morning had a little pink bundle snuggled up in her arms. The bundle of course was her little Ryleigh, she had her eyes, her nose, her lips, her smile, and her toes; Ryleigh was perfect and Emma loved her the moment she saw her.
But that love wasn't meant to be, after having Ryleigh at the school with her for two months, a woman came to take Ryleigh from her saying that there was family who wanted her. Of course Emma wouldn't give her up, but once Ian came to the school, all sorts of paperwork in hand, Emma knew she lost. She sat by as her little baby was taken away, her father telling her that it was for the best, that she was too young. Her heart broke into a million pieces the day Ryleigh went away. And the next few years were torture. Ian kept Emma on a tight lease, only letting her go out for school and social events. While her grades were the best they could be, Emma was far from that. She suffered through hours in a therapists office and gulped down anti-depressants twice a day.
The summer after graduating high school, she couldn't take it anymore. Emma packed up a suitcase and just left, first going to San Diego where she stayed with her mother and her new family. After three months there, she just kept going, traveling the west coast, seeing the beaches and the mountains, and looking for a very specific little girl. As she traveled, she felt better with herself, even without finding Ryleigh. Once her twenty-second birthday rolled around, Emma felt herself wanting a place to call home. So placing a pin randomly on a map, she found herself deciding to call the town of Cleverose her home.

As per usual, Emma's day had gone by at a slow but not anxious pace. She was dealing currently with a case that was quite like her own had been. A teen that wanted to be emancipated because she felt like she didn't belong, but rather then from her parents it was from foster care. Emma had to help prepare the girl for court and help her show that she would be better off on her own. The girl had this certain spark, something that reminded her of herself, and she just knew that this girl could make it; she was a survivor. After the girl left, with quite the confidence boost thanks to her, Emma began to gather her stuff up and throw it in her bag. She was meeting a friend, Elizabeth, for lunch at Piper's. It would be a nice escape from the office before she returned to do her usual afternoon paperwork and faxing.
As Emma exited the building, a slight breeze blew her blond hair back over her shoulders. It was welcoming weather, the cold from the morning was gone and replaced with warmth and a little breeze. It would make the couple block walk to Piper's more enjoyable; considering her heels would make her regret walking within minutes. Which after ten minutes of walking, Emma regretted wearing the blasted high thin heeled booties. Though as she saw Piper's come into view she sped up her pace, practically tripping a few times as rushed to the restaurant. As she walked she was about to tell the hostess she was meeting someone, but just held her hand up, walking toward the table she saw her friend sitting at.
Emma practically fell into the chair, stating, "Remind me to pack a pair of flats next time I plan to walk here." She laughed slightly after she spoke, then smiled at Elizabeth, ""Anyway, hey! So how is work going for the day?" As she spoke she picked up a menu, looking over the options before deciding she would stick to the basics of a chicken ceasar salad with a an unsweetened iced tea. She then sat the menu down, her blue eyes looking at her friend.
